The successful candidate will be responsible for handling discovery, drafting pleadings and briefs, researching legal developments, and supporting the firm's mass tort bankruptcy team. This role involves collaboration with partners, delegation to support staff, and active participation in optimizing the firm's ongoing business operations.Duties:Represent debtors and creditors in corporate restructurings, workouts, and bankruptcy proceedings.Handle diverse cases, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 12, adversary proceedings, creditors' committees, individual creditors, trustees, and receivers.Manage all aspects of discovery, from initiation to completion.Draft and file pleadings and briefs for various bankruptcy cases.Stay updated on state and national developments in bankruptcy law and regulations.Assist in the firm's mass tort bankruptcy team, contributing to litigation efforts.Support partners by researching and drafting materials for manuscripts and presentations.Delegate tasks to paralegals and support staff.Undertake other legal functions, duties, and special projects as assigned by partners.Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of bankruptcy experience.Excellent academic credentials and exceptional communication skills.Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school, with a preferred emphasis on bankruptcy or litigation.Admission to practice in North Carolina or willingness to obtain admission.Strong legal research, written, and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and make executive decisions.Creative problem-solving skills.Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, prioritizing and handling multiple tasks autonomously.A team player committed to collaborative work with colleagues and clients.Bankruptcy Court or Federal District Court clerkship is a plus.Education and Certifications:Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school, with preferred emphasis in bankruptcy or litigation.Admission to practice in North Carolina or willingness to obtain admission.Skills:Excellent legal research, written, and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and make executive decisions.Creative problem-solving skills.Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.A team player committed to working with colleagues and clients.Benefits:
