Full TimeDescription/Notes:Guidance:Teach school developmental guidance curriculum to students.Help teachers incorporate guidance-related information into existing curriculum.Provide guidance to individuals and groups of students to develop education plans and career awareness.Counsel individuals and small groups.Consultation:Consult parents, teachers, administrators, and other relevant people to enhance their work with students.Work with school personnel and school district residents to obtain resources for students.Use an effective referral process to help students and others use special programs and services.Assessment:Participate in planning and evaluation of campus standardized testing program.Interpret tests and other appraisal results appropriately.Program Management:Plan school guidance and counseling programs to ensure that they meet identified needs.Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of guidance program and make changes based on findings.Compile, maintain, and file all required physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents.Administration:Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and board policy in guidance and counseling area.Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.Maintain a positive and effective relationship with supervisors.Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.Professional:Model behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job assignment.Other:Maintain confidentiality regarding student and coworker information and as required by FERPA.Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise assigned counseling aide(s) and clerical employee(s).Qualifications:Education/Certification:Master’s degree in guidance counselingValid Texas counseling certificateSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of counseling procedures, student appraisal, and career developmentExcellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to instruct students and manage their behaviorExperience:Two years of creditable teaching experience requiredSalary Range:

$63,281.00 - $87,387.00 / Per YearBenefits:
