Our client is looking for a full-time Director of Pharmacy. This position offers an opportunity to lead a team dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership abilities in decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal relations, working closely with department directors, physicians, staff, visitors, and vendors. The role involves making crucial decisions that impact patient outcomes and promoting teamwork among staff for efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards in line with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements.Oversee departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management to meet performance and quality objectives.Manage staffing activities, including hiring, orientation, evaluation, disciplinary actions, and continuing education.Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, ensuring operations align with allocated funding and coordinating internal/external audits.Foster an environment that encourages professional development.Incorporate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.Upon obtaining NV licensure, act as the "Managing Pharmacist," ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal laws and regulations.Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required; Doctorate in Pharmacy preferred.Experience:
Minimum of three years of pharmacy leadership experience in a hospital or acute care setting.Licenses/Certifications:
Obtain a Nevada Pharmacist License within three months of hire. Become a Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) with the State of NV within three months post-licensure. Acquire Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association within six months of hire. Complete FEMA IS-100.C and FEMA IS-200.C certifications within three months of hire (effective 7.1.2023), and every three years thereafter. Complete Handle with Care training within 30 days of hire.Physical Demands:
Occasional prolonged standing/walking; occasional lifting of supplies/equipment (20-30 pounds).Skills:
Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently. Must handle stress effectively and take appropriate action when necessary.
