The team responsible for building world-class news experiences for ABC News is seeking a Software Engineer. This is a great opportunity to work on a leading news product at ABC News on its mission to inform and inspire. ResponsibilitiesDevelopment of feature-rich native Android and AndroidTV applications.

Identify areas for growth within the team processes and develop new systems for collaboration.

Write clear, well-tested, performant code.

Work with other developers to create sustainable, well-architected solutions that are built to last.

Manage production issues and solve novel problems.

Support peers through code review and pair programming.

Create opportunities to learn and improve the codebase.

Basic Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of related work experience

Expert knowledge of Kotlin and Android Studio, along with all Android APIs

Basic knowledge of MVVM architecture

Experience integrating with backend systems web services, and third-party software

Preferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of Jetpack Compose

Working knowledge of MVI architecture

Familiarity with Dagger and RxJava

Knowledge of best practices when dealing with REST API integrations

EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

The hiring range for this position in California is $112,600

and $151,000 per year and in Washington is $118,000 to $158,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.#J-18808-Ljbffr
