The Department of Preventive and Restorative Dentistry invites applicants for a part-time, pre-clinical faculty position up to 2 days per week, 40 weeks per year. Responsibilities include providing preventive and restorative preclinical content within the dental school pre-doctoral curriculum.Responsibilities may include:Teaching Curriculum:Instruction in the Integrated Pre-clinical Technique (IPT) curricular strand.Participate in outcomes assessment, including student and peer evaluation.Assist in setting standards of care.Participate in mandatory faculty calibration and development.Collaboration and Service:Engage in school, university, professional, and community service opportunities.Promote a culture of humanism and collaboration.Minimum Qualifications:Current knowledge of dental school educational processes.Understanding of restorative and preventive information and techniques.Dental materials and emerging applications to clinical restorative treatment.Education:
DDS/DMD or international equivalent from an accredited dental school.Licenses/Certifications:
Valid CPR certification.Preferred Qualifications:Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.Work independently with minimal supervision.Work effectively in a group setting.Reflect, self-assess, and think critically.Maintain confidentiality of information.Demonstrate professional judgment.Experience:Previous teaching or practice experience is preferred.Minimum of one year practice experience preferred.Physical Requirements:Sufficient motor function to execute movements essential to teaching.Ability to operate dental handpieces and use hand instrumentation.Hiring Range:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour.Special Instructions:
