Employment Attorney

Donahue Fitzgerald, LLP has an opportunity for a Mid-level Attorney to join the firm’s Employment Practice Group in our Oakland office. This position will be involved in all aspects of employment litigation and advice and counsel matters.Annual minimum billable hours requirement is 1610, with the opportunity to earn a bonus for hours worked in excess of the minimum.Duties and ResponsibilitiesRepresent employers in court, arbitrations, before administrative agencies and at mediations on class/collective actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour mattersDefend clients in PAGA mattersDraft and respond to pleadings and discoveryDraft and argue motionsAbility to take and defend depositionsProvide employment counseling on federal and state employment laws, when neededKnowledge, Skills, and Educational RequirementsJD from Accredited Law SchoolMust be admitted and a member in good standing of the California BarShould possess at least 5+ years of employment litigation experience; Class Action and PAGA experience, preferredStrong command of Federal and California state labor and employment lawsPrior experience taking and defending depositions and arguing motions in courtOutstanding research and analytical skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent attention to detailA self-starter with the ability to manage cases from start to finishAbility to set a course of action and direct the work of associate attorneys and paralegals, when neededAbility to think strategically and creatively while providing practical counsel to clientsAbility to work in hybrid work schedule of 2 days in the officeThis is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established firm that offers interesting work, great prospects, a collaborative working environment, and competitive benefits.
