Salary Range:
The current salary range for this position is $78,200-$123,400 (9-month academic year salary). Off-scale salary and other components of pay may be offered to meet competitive conditions.

Position Description
The Department of Plant and Microbial Biology at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in plant developmental biology. The department seeks applicants conducting fundamental research on the molecular, cellular, and organismal principles that organize how plant form emerges, how plant development responds to the environment, and how plant form diversifies over evolutionary timescales.
Researchers working on any aspect of plant developmental mechanisms, morphology, organogenesis, computational morphodynamics, developmental plasticity, and/or evolution of development are encouraged to apply. The candidate's research will be expected to integrate a broad spectrum of genetic, genomic, physiological, quantitative imaging, computational analysis, systems biology, and/or synthetic biology approaches. Strong interests in teaching and mentoring the next generation of scientists in plant developmental biology are essential.
Candidates whose research programs include translational research on crop improvement or conservation, particularly in the context of climate change, are especially encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (required at time of application):
PhD (or equivalent international degree) or enrolled in PhD or equivalent program at the time of application.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrate evidence of strong research productivity and a commitment to excellence in teaching and research mentoring.
Demonstrate evidence of expertise in relevant fields such as plant developmental mechanisms, morphology, or evolution of development.
Demonstrate strong research skills and potential to establish an innovative research agenda.
Commitment to working in an inclusive environment and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
