By Loews-Arlington, TX hotel boasts an infinity-edge pool, a rooftop terrace and floor-to-ceiling windows that offer sweeping views of the Arlington Entertainment District.This Director of Sales role will oversee both the Loews Arlington Hotel & Live! by Loews Arlington complex sales team.Purpose:This position requires a progressive Sales executive, a strong leader who can successfully & strategically market multiple properties, build an exceptional sales team, and develop and implement ongoing strategic initiatives that will positively impact hotel revenues and profits. The position is responsible for selling, administration, planning, and communications. Sales personnel development, ongoing training, coaching and counseling are also critical components of this position.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Develop and update annual strategic business plan which includes market initiatives by segmentDevelop initiatives, promotions, packages and campaigns to ensure successful consumer response and positively impact market yield and RevParMaintain accurate forecasting for all group/transient segments while identifying value periodsEstablish programs and direct sales efforts to achieve group and transient goals while building ongoing relationships with customersMonitor sales production and adjust sales activities, account coverage and sales priorities as necessary to achieve plan goalsEstablish account qualifications criteria and use market research and resources to identify priority markets and accounts; assign sales managers to assure coverage of all major marketsDevelop active communications and close rapport with Convention & Visitors Bureau, National Sales Offices, Planners Associations and other sources of sales information and supportRecruit, select, train and motivate sales department to realize their potential and develop individuals for advancement. Assure understanding of position descriptions, goals and standards of performance for sales department personnel; conduct formal semi-annual evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and counseling.Qualifications:Excellent communication skills – oral and writtenExcellent networking, negotiation and presentation skills requiredAbility to envision/create new strategic ideas to drive sales and revenuesMust be a skilled leader, have strong organizational skills, and have thorough knowledge and understanding of hotel operations.Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidaysTravel requiredStrong analytical and presentation skillsAbility to form strong internal and external partnerships and influence decision makingProven aptitude analyzing data and industry trends using business intelligence solutionsProficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Preferred proficiency in FDCRequired Qualifications:Microsoft Office Applications to include Excel, Adobe Reader, Word, and PowerPointEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or other similar majorExperience:5-7 years hospitality sales experience in a high volume and luxury hotel or resort
