Moxy is an exciting new addition to the Charlotte area offering a modern, fun experience. As we prepare for our grand opening, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales to lead our sales efforts. This role is pivotal in positioning the hotel in the market, driving revenue, and ensuring a successful launch.
The Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy to maximize occupancy, revenue, and market share for our new hotel. This role involves building and leading a high-performing sales team, establishing relationships with key clients, and working closely with the General Manager to ensure the hotel’s offerings align with market demand.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to drive business for the hotel, focusing on corporate, group, leisure, and event segments.
Lead pre-opening sales initiatives, including market research, competitive analysis, and client outreach, to position the hotel effectively in the market.
Build, mentor, and manage a sales team, providing guidance, training, and motivation to achieve sales targets.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, travel agencies, corporate accounts, and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling promotions, packages, and campaigns that attract and retain guests.
Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to adjust strategies as needed.
Oversee the development and execution of sales presentations, proposals, and contracts.
Work closely with the Food & Beverage Director to ensure seamless execution of meetings, conferences, and other events.
Report regularly to the General Manager and management on sales activities, achievements, and areas for improvement.
Represent the hotel at industry events and networking functions to promote the property and build brand awareness.
Ensure that all sales activities are compliant with local laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 3 years in a senior sales leadership role.
Proven track record of success in driving hotel sales, particularly in a pre-opening environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a sales team to achieve ambitious goals.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
In-depth knowledge of the local market and the hospitality industry.
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in sales management software and CRM systems.
