The SVP of Capital Markets is responsible for developing and executing strategic asset liability management strategies that mitigate interest rate, liquidity, credit and capital risk, while maximizing return on capital. This role will also be responsible for modeling the subservicing portfolio, assets, and liabilities including volumes and associated revenues for EVE and NOI analysis as well as for financial planning and forecasting. The role will encompass all aspects of bank products including pricing and margin management, whole loan trading, secondary marketing, hedging, and securitization.
Responsibilities:
Treasury
Develop and implement investment strategies to maximize returns on the company's portfolio while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements
Monitor and analyze market trends, economic conditions, and investment opportunities to inform decision-making
Conduct regular portfolio performance reviews and adjust strategies as necessary to meet financial objectives
Oversee the acquisition and disposition of financial assets, including but not limited to bonds, equities, real estate, and other securities
Manage the processes of key banking products such as pricing and margin management, whole loan trading, secondary marking and hedging, establishing and running a securitization capability, MSR’s, mortgage lending and processing
Evaluate potential investments and divestments to ensure they align with the company's strategic goals and risk tolerance
Provide strategic insights to senior management regarding investment opportunities, financial risks, and asset management
Prepare and present detailed financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to the ALCO/Bank Finance Committee
Oversee the development and assumptions for EVE, NOI, and Liquidity analysis.
Assist in the development of long-term financial plans and capital allocation strategies
Develop and oversee cash management strategies and forecasts to optimize cash positions on and off balance sheet
Presents the status of investments and related guidelines, limits, and targets to the ALCO and Board committees
Ensures compliance of state, federal, and banking laws and regulations within the scope of Treasury functions
Risk Management (Interest Rate, Liquidity, Capital)
Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks related to investments, hedging, liquidity, and capital management
Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework, including policies and procedures around interest rate risk, liquidity and contingency funding plans.
Conduct regular risk assessments and stress tests to evaluate the impact of various scenarios on the company's financial health
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting related to treasury activities.
Ensures all activities are in accordance with company and regulatory risk and compliance requirements
Sub-Servicing and Asset Liability Modeling
Developing and overseeing the modeling of servicing portfolio volumes, prepayments, delinquency and related revenue streams for EVE, NOI, and Business Forecasting
Forecasting revenue from the subservicing business including base fees, DQ fees, loss mitigation fees, float income, transfer revenue, and other revenue streams.
Collaborate with the financial planning and analysis teams on volume and revenue drivers for forecasting, budgeting and stress testing requirements.
Modeling the assets and liabilities based on different rate scenarios and the impact to EVE, NOI and NIM
Manage pricing and modeling to advise and give input to new contracts or to renegotiate existing contracts
Performance Management
Works with managers to develop and monitor individual and departmental goals and provides effective feedback and guidance on a regular basis; Holds managers accountable for meeting these goals
Leads effective performance management and professional talent development across all respective departments
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field required; MBA or CFA preferred
12+ years of capital markets, trading, portfolio management, MSR analytics, risk management, and leadership experience in a variety of economic cycles
Experience with liquidity stress testing, liquidity risk management, interest rate risk management, capital management and/or asset-liability management within large complex financial organizations preferred
Experience in mortgage and consumer banking, whole loans, and asset-backed securities; capital markets, hedging, trading, pricing; securitization; and regulatory compliance
Strong understanding of regulatory processes, activities, and requirements of the banking industry
Background with performing Bank required analytics for the OCC (EVE, NOI, contingency funding planning, stress testing, capital planning, etc.)
Strong understanding of capital markets specific to mortgage banking products (MSRs, Residential loans, HELOC, Home Equity Securitization, etc.)
Ability to manage a team effectively as well as collaborate with other teams
Experience MSR financing, Advance financing, Warehouse line of credit preferred
Strong leadership skills to inspire outstanding performance through collaboration
Strong customer service skills to effectively execute the strategic goals and mission of Cenlar, while demonstrating Key Success Factors
Effective listening, communication, and presentation skills to present complex topics to senior management in a persuasive manner
