EOEPosition Information:The Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work under the general supervision of their Medical Director, all physician partners, and their APP Manager in WakeMed Physician Practices to deliver competent medical care to patients at WakeMed. This position can consist of both inpatient and outpatient care depending on the needs of the service and is outlined in the clinical job expectations. Responsibilities may include:Completion of referrals and consultsDaily patient roundsDaily notes and discharge summariesProcedures and clinic notesPre and post procedure carePrescribing and patient care follow-upsWill work closely with other healthcare providers in a collaborative multidisciplinary approach to maximize the care we provide to our patients. As a healthcare professional, the PA/NP will function as an educator for PA/NP/DO students from healthcare education programs. The PA/NP will maintain the scope of practice consistent with the policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines governed by the North Carolina Medical Board or Nursing Board and any other federal or state regulatory agencies, as well as the policies and procedures of WakeMed. Additional certifications such as Advanced Life Support may be required based on clinical area of practice, which will be outlined in the clinical job expectations and reviewed annually during the annual review process. The PA/NP understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values, and management of WakeMed.

Experience Requirements:1 Year Clinical - Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Experience PreferredEducation Required:Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required - And Master's Degree Nursing Preferred or Master's Degree Physician Assistant RequiredLicensure/Certification Requirements:Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Required or Physician Assistant Required, Basic Life Support Required - Within 6 Months of HireHours of Work:Rotating hoursWeekend Requirements:As NeededCall Requirements:None
