We are searching for an experienced Director of Grid Integration Strategy to join our team.Position Description:The Director of Grid Integration Strategy will report to the COO and/or the Chief Legal and Strategy Officer and play a key role in Oklo’s strategy related to grid integration. The successful candidate will be motivated, experienced, and excited to develop strategy based on their knowledge and research on federal, state, and local regulations related to grid integration, integrating this strategy with customer needs and ISO or utility requirements. The ability to stay organized and work across departments will be key success factors. It is expected that this role would interact often with the Business Development department, the Nuclear Regulatory Affairs department, the External Affairs department, the Legal department and with other strategic areas within Oklo such as Finance.Specific responsibilities may include:Developing strategy related to grid integration or other delivery to customer and identifying optimal strategies in different regions within the U.S.Implementing strategy via providing input for customer engagement, e.g. related to power purchase agreement terms.Potential engagement with officials from FERC, Public Utility Commissions, ISOs, etc.Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructionsReviewing or helping draft contract termsKeeping abreast of new regulations or other relevant news and developments in the U.S. power sectorPerform other duties and special projects as assignedWe are looking for someone that is:Detail-Oriented – the details matter and a willingness to read through legal documents, understand nuance, and being ready to answer hard questions will likely be essentialBold and Creative – our deployments will likely be unique and will require thoughtful strategy development and creative solutions, possibly unlike anything ever done beforeHigh Energy – ability to work on multiple projects under tight time frames with a positive attitudeAnalytical and Strategic—the individual synthesizes complex or diverse information to create strategy, and is thoughtful about tradeoffs and value-add engagementsProblem solving—the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfullyKey characteristics for an Oklo team member:Passionate about clean energyPassionate about making advanced fission a realityWilling and able to learn quicklyWilling to think differently and do things in new waysComfortable in a fast-paced, highly-iterative startup environmentExcited to think creatively, critically, and reflectively about the problems they are solving while not leaning only on what has been done beforeMinimum Qualifications:Five or more years of relevant experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Bonus Qualifications:Fast growth startup or public company experienceExperience commercializing First of a Kind (FOAK) technologiesLegal and/or contracting competencyPreferred location: Bay Area CaliforniaWho you are:A startup person : You aren't driven by titles or hierarchy and prefer efficiency to excess process.
