Strategic Procurement Manager, Indirect Spend
Position summary:
Are you a passionate and results-oriented Strategic Procurement Manager/Category Manager with a strong drive within supplier value creation, sourcing and category management? Are you self-driven, proactive, and experienced in heading multiple indirect spend categories? We need a Strategic Procurement Manager to oversee indirect procurement for our two US sites (Columbia, MD and Noblesville, IN).
This role involves developing and executing strategic sourcing plans, leading category management initiatives, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure procurement alignment with business objectives. Frequent travel between the two sites is required.
The position reports to the Head of Indirect Spend, Global Procurement, located in Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead category management initiatives to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve supplier performance.
Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for indirect spend categories.
Collaborate with stakeholders across different departments to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
Analyze spend data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and develop strategies to optimize spend.
Implement procurement processes and best practices to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Drive change management initiatives to gain buy-in from stakeholders and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure supplier performance meets company standards.
Act as the first point of contact for all indirect procurement matters for our two US sites.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Business or Finance.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on indirect spend.
Proven experience in category management and strategic sourcing.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and act on complex data.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Self-motivated, autonomous, and capable of driving initiatives independently.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience in change management and implementing new processes.
Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
