Zitara builds thousands of battery models on top of these datasets, and these models enable our customers to use their batteries more safely and efficiently.As a member of the Platform Software Team, you will design and implement data transformation and analysis pipelines for complex physical data sources, automate data capture from physical systems, assist with data entry and quality maintenance tools for Zitara's lab and test engineering teams, interface with Zitara's R&D teams, and share responsibility for the observability and scalability of the technology you build.In this role, you'll be expected to jump into at least one or two specific well-defined projects immediately, and help define future projects to streamline our operations as we grow.ResponsibilitiesUnderstand complex data and operations problems across multiple disciplines and apply software engineering methodology to attack themMake tactical decisions on scope and priority to effect a continuously-improving software systemProactively elicit requirements and feedback with cross-functional stakeholders and produce necessary documentation to ensure system changes meet operational needs and can be adoptedDemonstrate professionalism and a commitment to best practices in a software engineering teamMinimum QualificationsBachelors' in technical subject or equivalent proficiency5+ years experience in industry data engineering3+ years experience in one or more of the following specialties:Proficiency in time-series databasesAutomating data collection, storage, and validationOrganizing and managing large, complex data setsCreating data and operations dashboardsProficiency in Python, SQL-based relational databases, and AWS servicesExperience shipping robust internal toolsClear and effective written and interpersonal communication skillsCreative problem solving with limited resources and engineering constraintsPreferred Additional QualificationsExperience with ETL, ELT, or pipeline orchestration tools such as dbt, Dagster, and AirflowExperience in batteries, IoT, mechanical engineering, electrical engineeringExperience writing software tools to automate physical processesWhat We OfferA full-time position, working from our office in San Francisco, CA or remotely.Competitive pay.
