Job Description Job Name: Finance ControllerLocation: Anchorage, AK$115,600 - $195,000 DOE

Our client, Alaska Native Corporation, is seeking the right person that can provide leadership and coordination of the company’s accounting management functions, along with support to the Director of Accounting as required. This position ensures company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Would you like to:Embrace the values of the organization including honesty, integrity, accountability, respect, and perseverance.Perform duties and responsibilities with integrity, transparency, and professionalism in a fair, open-minded, and timely manner.Maintain financial records, GL accounts, Trial Balances, Accounting systems, and cash accounts in accordance with GAAP.Manage Accounts Payable payment processing and tax reporting, developing and supporting efficient workflows.Prepare cash flow, cash forecasts, and cash requirements.Monitor all A/R activities to include invoicing, unbilled and receivables.Process and monitor the monthly bank reconciliations ensuring all transactions are recorded.Support Corporate with subsidiary data related to financial audits, compiling requested documentation and reconciliations for external auditors.Provide a system for management cost reports and interact with other departments to provide financial information as required.Prepare monthly balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements for individual companies and consolidated financials for all entities in accordance with GAAP.Support monthly financial reporting to include preparation of management financial reports once Consolidated Reports are completed.Monitor and analyze subsidiary monthly operating results against budget and anticipated contract performance.Support subsidiary cost proposal activity, preparing estimates and supporting documentation in accordance with the company’s pricing strategies.Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.Perform various analyses, reports, or special projects at the direction of the CFO, Director of Accounting, or other Executive Management.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and reporting.Ensure strict compliance with FAR, DCAA, and GAAP regulations.Assist in preparation and submission of annual DCAA incurred cost submissions and actively participate in the audit as needed.Respond to CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate her/his financial needs.

Do you have:Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP.Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.Proficiency in Word and Excel.An ability to meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail.An ability to handle confidential information.Superior people skills (intrapersonal and interpersonal).An ability to multi-task effectively.An ability to ensure all financial operations are in compliance with GAAP and governmental rules or guiding regulations.

You need:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.Five (5) years of progressive accounting/finance work experience including government contracting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSCurrent CPA license.Specific work experience with ANSCA Corporations.Deltek Costpoint accounting system experience in a multi-company environment.
