The medical speech-language pathologist provides services for the prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation, education, and rehabilitation of patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders. Speech-language pathologists also serve as clinical instructors for graduate students in speech pathology, clinical fellows, and other medical professionals.

The speech-language pathologist works closely with the patient, family, and other members of a physician-led team in providing individualized treatment.QualificationsMaster's degree in speech-language pathologyCurrent Arizona licensure as a Speech-Language PathologistCertification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or academic equivalent with clinical fellowship year pending completionBasic Life Support certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competencyMinimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience (CFYs will not be considered)Independence with VFSS/MBSS administration, interpretation and planning of care based on results is requiredPreference for independence with FEESExperience working with ALS population is required.Experience evaluating and treating adults with neurogenic communication impairmentsExperience with brain injured patientsExperience evaluating and treating patients with dysphagiaThe ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needsKnowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life spanSchedule:

$81,744 - $122,678 / year - Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.Benefits:
