Our Talent is proud to work here.JOB SUMMARY:The Pastry Chef is responsible for pastry production and assisting Executive Chef. Must have great attention to detail, pastry experience and a refined palate and high standards of excellence. Must be motivated with excellent communication and organizational skills, working cleanly, efficiently and with respect for quality ingredients and careful attention to preparations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:•Lead and manage the quality, quantity of the Pastry department, as well as coordinate the production as it relates to the restaurant functions•Develop new dessert, pastry and bread products according to the specifications•To assist in the recruitment and training of all new Pastry Cooks•Follow outlet policies, procedures and standard operating procedures•Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage•Work closely with staff, to ensure high quality and consistence of food preparation and presentation•Ensure employees adhere to Safety and Health Standards•Create and implement new Pastry items in all outlets.•Manage employee performance and development through training, coaching, performance management or corrective action•Establish recipes and keep the staff accountable to follow the recipes.•Plates desserts to order according to service standards.•Prepares all recipes with minimal to no supervision as required for daily service.

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required•Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.•Must be organized and detail oriented.•Ability to handle multiple tasks and works well in environment with time constraints.•Ability to handle last minute changes.•Minimum of 3 years of Pastry Management experience in a similar high volume environment; this will include all areas of pastry function such as: wedding cakes, baking, showpieces, yeast dough, French pastries, chocolates, and sugar work•Culinary School Education•Must be highly resourceful and innovative, detail oriented, quality conscious and aware of contemporary trends in presentation & preparation•Must be an effective leader, manager, trainer, developer, administrator, and team player with strong communication and organization skills•Cake MakingQUALIFICATION:Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the safety or health of employee or others.
