The Social Media Specialist is responsible for the creation and execution of social media strategies, and attracting new followers to the Bank's social accounts. The Social Media Specialist will be a passionate storyteller with a deep understanding of social media platforms and trends. This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and execute effective social media campaigns to increase brand awareness, engagement, and drive business growth. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with overall marketing goals and informed by competitor research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification.Create, edit and publish monthly editorial calendars unique to each social platform.Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML), most relevant to each social platform, that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action.Create and optimize social campaigns to generate more followers per channel.Manage boosting budget across all social platforms.Work with copywriters and designers as needed to produce content.Optimize Ameris Bank pages within each platform to increase the visibility of Ameris Bank's social content.Moderate all user-generated content, and support the moderation of user-generated content facilitated through customer contact employees, in line with the Ameris Bank social media community guidelines and engagement policies.Measure the success of every social media channel and act on the measured information by:Defining most important social media KPIs.Capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices.Monitoring effective benchmarks.Collaborate with other departments to confirm content, manage reputation, identify key players, coordinate actions, and advance social education.Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, and design and adjust strategies as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.Understands how to use targeted and branded language when copy writing and ensures our "social voice" is consistent with our brand voice.Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels.Knowledge of SEO, keyword research and analytics.

Industry and Work Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of proven work experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist.

Academic:

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, news media, public relations or related field required.
