Our group offers a diverse portfolio of products and services, which, combined with strategic infrastructureand logistics capabilities, create significant value for our customers.The Environmental Manager is a promoter of Colonial’s safety culture, working under the leadership of the EHS&S VP.The environmental manager leads a team of environmental specialists in designing strategic environmental compliance policies and procedures across all business units.This position will be held with self-motivation, enthusiasm, and conviction while fostering a supportive relationship with operating departments.This position requires a combination of office and fieldwork and occasional overnight travel.JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIESKnowledge of environmental regulations such as:CAA: Clean Air ActCAA Title V: Title V of the Clean Air ActRCRA: Resource Conservation and Recovery ActSPCC: Spill Prevention, Control, and CountermeasureUST: Underground Storage TankOPA 90: Oil Pollution Act of 1990FIFRA: Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide ActRFS: Renewable Fuel StandardTSCA: Toxic Substances Control ActCERCLA: Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability ActEPCRA: Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know ActCWA: Clean Water ActCERCLA: Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability ActOther areas of preferred knowledge:MSHA: Mine Safety and Health AdministrationUSCG: Response Plans for Oil FacilitiesUSCG: Oil or Hazardous Material Pollution Prevention Regulations for VesselsHAZWOPER: Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency ResponseResponsible for:Monitoring overall environmental compliance performanceManaging environmental consultantsOverseeing compliance with environmental plans and permitsManaging the submittal of environmental compliance reportsManaging regulatory deadlinesManaging regulators and regulatory inspectionsOverseeing multiple environmental remediation projectsAssessing remediation strategiesManaging environmental consultants and annual budgetsDeveloping and reviewing remediation reportsMaintaining a positive and productive working relationship with environmental agencies and adjacent residential communitiesRepresenting the company at environmental organizations and in environmental groups and committeesManaging environmental releases and other environmental emergency responses.Works independently with consultants, contractors, and legal counselManages and develops the environmental teamOther duties and projects may be assignedPOSITION REQUIREMENTSBS degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, or related field.Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) certifications are preferred.Experience working in the US Southeast (EPA Region IV), GA, SC, and NC is preferred.Minimum 10 years of relevant experience managing environmental compliance programs, and sufficient exposure to management of safety programs.Experience managing others is preferred.Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.Must be technology-driven and proficient in the use of software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.Must meet the criteria for obtaining a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
