In the Substance Use Disorders (SUD) department we strive to work with you as clinical staff members and provide opportunities for growth in working with a diverse population. Our treatment team also provides a sense of continual collaboration to support you and your client’s needs. Our mission is to help create a solid treatment system that can help set our clients, both adults and adolescents, up for a successful recovery journey. Clients seeking services may also require support related to co-occurring needs related to mental wellness and substance use.Under the supervision of the Director of SUD and the SUD leadership team, the counselor will complete formal substance use intakes with screenings and assessments, including but not limited to: biopsychosocial assessments, mental status exam, communicable disease assessment, financial eligibility, admission paperwork, consent forms, referrals to appropriate level of care, inputting DSM 5 diagnostic impression, and lastly recommendation for treatment. The counselor will also be required to collaboratively complete and modify person-centered treatment plans and discharge plans for after treatment has been completed.The counselor will provide orientation to the substance abuse program, facilitate individual and/or group counseling. Group counseling will consist of interpersonal process groups as well as psychoeducation groups with evidence-based practices. Counselors are also encouraged to provide case management for the client to ensure the development of external support for long-term recovery.The counselor will meet as scheduled with other members of the treatment team to coordinate client services. This counselor must be able to comply with all admissions, programming, curriculum, and scheduling guidelines and procedures as instructed along with all crisis intervention and safety protocols of the program. This is a flexible position and the person hired may need to perform services in other clinics when needed. Continued opportunities to work alongside law enforcement within the jails (mixed virtual and in-person) – serving incarcerated persons who are ready to address their substance use needs and connect with staff after their release. This position may involve working evening hours at least four days a week, TBD. This position has the flexibility to work four, ten-hour days a week.Location: Lockhart; Caldwell CountyMinimum Qualifications: Must meet the criteria and hold a valid license as an LCDC. An LCDC-I will be considered with documented experience in:Assessing, diagnosing, and evidence-based treatment of substance use disordersDemonstrated knowledge of the effects of substance use disorders and barriers to treatmentHistorical placements with a certified training instituteIf applicable, evidence of testing results and documented supervised work experience form to produce upon request. Must have valid Texas driver’s license and maintain approved driving status throughout employment.Preferred Qualifications: LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, or LMFT-A – with experience working with substance use disorders in a treatment capacity. Bilingual, experience with adolescent substance abuse treatment modality.
