Job Summary:Francis W. Parker School is a renowned JK-12th grade independent day school. Founded in 1901 on the tenets of progressive education, the school currently enrolls 940 students and employs 200 dedicated faculty and staff members who, in addition to assistant teachers, substitute teachers and coaches, work together to ensure that the School lives up to its Mission to “educate students to think and act with empathy, courage and clarity as responsible citizens and leaders in a diverse, democratic society and global community.”We are currently seeking a Special Events Coordinator to provide assistance to all events and volunteer efforts. Working closely with the Director of Alumni Relations and Institutional Events, this position will work to increase engagement of all constituencies at Parker through strategic and engaging events. The Special Events Coordinator is an outstanding leader who is self-motivated, collaborative, has great time management, and is detail-oriented. This position reports to the Director of Alumni Relations and Institutional Events.This position requires that one consistently projects a positive image of Francis W. Parker School with all parties. This position also requires flexibility in work schedule to include some evenings and weekends; confidentiality and discretion; superior organizational and interpersonal skills; self-reliance and self-motivation; and the ability to multi-task in a highly active work environment.Essential Functions:

In collaboration with the Director of Alumni Relations and Institutional Events, this position will help manage all logistics related to the Parker Party, the school's signature fundraising gala which raises a million dollars annually.Partner with the Parker Party volunteer committees and assist in managing all Parker Party volunteers.Assist with silent auction procurement and data management for the Parker Party.Help manage all vendor and venue relationships, and contracts for any events.Partner with the Data Analyst to manage event registration, webpage updates, and any data needs for event purposes.Work closely with the Director of Alumni Relations and Institutional Events on Parker Party budget planning and management, volunteer recruitment, engagement and solicitation.Work closely with the Director of Alumni Relations and Institutional Events and assist with management of the Alumni Board and Alumni Board Committees.Oversee independently the set-up, tear down and logistics for all events within the office as well as the follow-up processes.Other duties as assigned.To Apply:

Bachelor’s Degree.1-3 years of experience in event planning, volunteer management or related field of work.Must have excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.Ability to work well with diverse groups and a wide range of perspectives.Computer proficient, with special emphasis on all MS Office software.Knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge software is a plus.Strong organizational skills.Strong time and project management orientation.Self-directed and flexible.Even-tempered in moments of stress.Able to handle multiple tasks and still be punctual and calm.Friendly and outgoing.Effective organizational skills.Excellent attention to detail.
