A law firm in Minneapolis is seeking an experienced Environmental Attorney to join their team. The candidate will play a crucial role in advising clients on a wide range of environmental matters, including mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, permitting, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation. The position requires strong writing and communication skills, as well as expertise in federal, state, and local environmental law and regulations.Duties:Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients on environmental matters associated with mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, tax credits, and financing transactions.Advise clients on permitting issues related to stormwater, air, and water emissions.Assist clients in risk mitigation strategies and compliance with federal, state, and local statutory and regulatory requirements.Handle legal matters concerning emerging contaminants, renewable energy projects, and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance.Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, permits, and regulatory filings.Represent clients in negotiations, administrative proceedings, and litigation related to environmental issues.Interface regularly with colleagues across offices and practice groups, as well as engage directly with clients.Requirements:Law degree (JD) from an ABA accredited law school.Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.5+ years of environmental law experience in the public and/or private sector.Experience with federal environmental laws and standards, including CERCLA, NEPA, RCRA, TSCA, FIFRA, CWA, and CAA.Transactional experience in environmental law.Familiarity with state and local environmental regulatory requirements.Experience with pollution legal liability insurance and prior defense sites preferred.Portable business preferred.Education:Law degree (JD) from an ABA accredited law school.Certifications:Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.Skills:Strong writing and communication skills.Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.Negotiation and advocacy skills.Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
