Through innovative programs, relevant partnerships, and exceptional care, we empower students to meaningfully improve their lives, communities, and workplaces.This role will provide instruction and support to DeVry University's Advantage Academy high school population in Chicago, IL.DeVry University’s Advantage Academy helps qualified Chicago Public School students take college courses—and earn an Associate Degree in Information Technology and Networking with a Specialization in Network Systems Administration or an Associate Degree in Business Administration —while earning a high school diploma at the same time.Our mission as DeVry University faculty members is to facilitate dynamic learning environments that foster intellectual curiosity, academic integrity, and critical thinking skills, preparing our students to become lifelong learners and leaders in their chosen career fields and communities.DeVry University faculty are dedicated to their students and exhibit exceptional student CARE.DeVry University faculty are proficient in all learning modalities and fully embrace DeVry University's Academic Philosophy and Instructional Model.Our faculty also are role models for our University TEACH values and foster a culture of CARE consistent with our University mission, vision, and purpose.Courses meet twice a week for eight weeks (daytime).Face-to-face interaction is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment.Commitment is on a course by course basis.Responsibilities:Supports the DeVry University Advantage Academy (DUAA) Chicago Lawrence Campus, a dual-enrollment program in partnership with Chicago Public Schools (CPS).Develops and provides students with an approved DeVry University syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and updates all course materials.Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provides timely feedback to students.Completes other duties as assigned.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.A master's degree is required for all faculty positions (with 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught for undergraduate teaching).Qualifying credentials must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Administration, or by an international institution determined to hold equivalent accreditation.Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply.Faculty must have requisite subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills.Faculty must also have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.Must be able to work in a collaborative manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups.Pay:
