August 19-November 17, 2024The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Virginia is seeking faculty candidates for Cell Therapy/Stem Cell Transplant focused on clinical care and clinical investigation ,

and Medical Director for Cell Therapy/Stem Cell Transplant .The Division of Hematology and Oncology is an expanding team of more than 45 physicians and physician-scientists with a vibrant clinical research portfolio. The successful candidate would be a member of the UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center, an NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Virginia. The successful candidate will look to further scholarly achievements through clinical and translational research opportunities. Translational collaborations within the Cancer Center are encouraged. Participation in student, resident, and fellow teaching is required and opportunities are abundant.The

candidate should have expertise in the care of patients with malignant disease with an emphasis on Bone Marrow/Stem Cell transplantation and Cellular Therapies.The

Medical Director for Cell Therapy/Stem Cell Transplant

is open track, but expected to be at the Associate Professor or Full Professor rank. Rank and tenure status will be dependent upon qualifications. The Medical Director will be responsible for ongoing design of the clinical program (quality management, selection and care of patients and donors, clinical research) as well as lead the recruitment of additional faculty members, and the development of a top tier cellular therapy and transplantation program.All teams are comprised of a collaborative group of physicians, nurses, advanced practitioners, and research coordinators. The candidates must be board-certified/eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology. Board certification in Internal Medicine is encouraged.
