The successful candidate will be an ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to function as an effective developer/automation engineer/architect in a dynamic, fast-paced and demanding environment.Candidate works with business groups within Hedge Fund Services to develop optimized technology solutions for business problems using languages and tools including but not limited to Xceptor, Alteryx, MSFT PowerPlatform, Python, SQL, and snowflake. Partner must be versed in Windows and Linux OS and shell scripting. Partner will be responsible for all aspects of the development, testing, and implementation of assigned projects and will be the single point of contact for those projects. May lead development projects that involve multiple developers and require code review.Major Duties• Defines and manages multiple phases of automation projects for a business area.• Interacts with technology, product management, and operations to formulate and implement solutions to enhance existing services, create new client deliverables, or improve processes. Identifies impact of changes and processes on staff; facilitates acceptance of change through training and communication. Provides ongoing support for the solution.• Reviews documents, existing procedures, and processes and recommends where automation or improved processes can be implemented. Designs/develops new procedures when appropriate.• Prepares detailed system specifications for proposed automated processes and systems enhancements.• Sets and maintains project schedules, monitors progress toward completion of project and adjusts schedule or tasks as needed.• Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of new processes, systems and/or modifications to existing solutions. Coordinates testing of new systems and systems modifications.• Determines vendor requirements, reviews and compares vendor services and products, and makes recommendations to management.• Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues.• Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivityKnowledge/Skills• Advanced knowledge of financial industry operations is required in order to manage the implementation of work process improvements through systems changes and enhancements.• Knowledge of programming languages, various business applications, state of the art technology, and current trends in the computer industry, usually acquired through related experience and a four year degree in Business, Finance and/or Computer Science is required to consult with business group partners to determine effective technology solutions.• Knowledge of various application designs and programming techniques, usually acquired through related experience, is required to develop conceptual business models and system designs.• Strong communications, analytical and problem solving skills are required to manage systems implementation projects.• Leadership and organizational skills are required to develop periodic goals and to manage and motivate team members towards the goals set• High-level of proficiency in at least one technology listed and aptitude to learn others: Power Platform, Alteryx, Xceptor, Snowflake• Proficiency in Excel/VBA preferred• Working knowledge of DevOps tools (GitHubEnterprise/Azure DevOps a plus)Experience Required• 5-10 years related work experience within financial services and information technology preferred.#LI-HI#LI-CL1Working with Us:As a Northern Trust partner, greater achievements await.
