Position OverviewKU Aerospace Engineering Department (KUAE) seeks an applicant pool of temporary pilots to fly the department's Cessna 172. The aircraft will be flown domestically either under the normal category airworthiness certificate or under a special airworthiness certificate in the experimental category. Flight activities will support multidisciplinary research conducted at the University.Responsibilities

85% - Pilot and navigate the aircraft15% - Prepare the aircraft for operation, including pre-and post-flight inspectionsPosition RequirementsMay be required to travel out-of-state overnightRequired Qualifications

Commercial Pilot's license with a Single Engine, Land rating250 hours total logged flight time, any aircraft20 hours logged time in a single-engine aircraft50 hours in a Cessna 172Current Class II medical certificateThree take-offs and landings as a sole manipulator of the flight controls in a single-engine aircraft within the previous 90 daysAdditional Candidate InstructionsA complete online application consists of the following:
