Senior Financial Reporting Analyst

Summary :The Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting advises and supports the Manager, Financial Reporting, to meet the Company’s internal and external financial reporting obligations. This involves preparing monthly, quarterly and annual analytics of financial data. Note that the Company’s primary external reporting obligations involve the filing of statutory financial statements with the State of California (we mention this point as our statutory reporting is somewhat different than traditional SEC reporting).

This position demands someone who can work independently, is a critical thinker and is able to meet tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess a strong accounting background and have the ability to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long-term projects with the urgency of immediate demands. He/she must also have the demonstrated ability to deal with highly confidential information. He/she must exhibit the skills to collaborate with others, the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships and the capability to interact across all levels of the Company.

The Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting, must also show the willingness and ability to manage large amounts of detail/data with great care and accuracy.

Essential Job Functions :

Collect and analyze financial data, ensuring all reporting is in compliance with GAAP.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual internal financial reporting and analyses. This position would primarily focus on analyzing revenue and medical costs. Additional analytical deliverables to our National accounting team will include items such as OI Bridges, Rate/Volume analyses, Month over Month, Quarter over Quarter and YTD over prior YTD analytics, etc.Analyze intercompany transactions to determine validity and to ensure balances are settled monthly, and assist in reconciling prior years' intercompany balances.Provide support and assistance in the form of schedule preparation and related explanations for our external auditors to support multiple audits that occur throughout the year (Enterprise audit, CA Market Health Plan/Risk Bearing Organizations (RBO) Audit, Employee Benefit Plan Audits).Provide support and assistance in the preparation of the Health Plan and RBO monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting package to be filed with the Department of Managed Health (DMHC) (Income statement, Balance sheet, Cash flows, footnotes and statistical data).Provide support and assistance in the preparation of monthly tangible net equity and cash flow projections to ensure compliance with statutory filing requirements.Provide support for month end, quarter end and year-end financial closes (provide assistance by analyzing trends and identifying issues that require additional research/resolution).Participation in ad-hoc projects, as required.

Qualifications:Requires a bachelor's degree of Accounting or Finance.CPA preferred, not required.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing demands is essential.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs is required.Excellent oral and written communication skills. Can clearly present and explain financial information.
