This is a hybrid role in San Jose, California. Minimum 3 days at the San Jose offices.

Position Summary

A Machine Learning (ML) Data Science Engineer holding this position contributes to and influences the design of new features, continuously keeps abreast of features being rolled out in major new releases on Linux and Windows and works in the area of machine learning and data science, NLP, anomaly detection, data discovery, and classification for cloud security. This position will contribute to the new product development and enhancements to existing products that are called for while addressing customer requirements, keeping up with technology advances, achieving established product quality goals, and meeting time-to-market requirements.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Design and train machine-learning models for data discovery, classification and correlation.Design and implement prediction interface for pre-trained models across platforms.Design and implement trainable models and training workflows.Data mining using state-of-the-art methods.Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systemsProcessing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysisWork with the system test team to define test plans, troubleshoot and resolve software defects.Perform research of relevant standards (e.g. data classification, data governance, UEBA) and technologies (such as NER, federated learning, knowledge graph) and design products that integrate seamlessly into the emerging ecosystems and conform to standards.

Basic Qualifications

BS Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent5+ years of industry experience with data scienceHands-on expertise with data mining and statistical modeling techniques such as clustering, classification, regression, tree-based methods, neural networks, support vector machines, anomaly detection, and natural language processing.Expertise in modern advanced analytical tools and programming languages such as Python, Scala, and/or Java.Experienced in SQL, Hive, SparkSQL, etc. Java and Scala programming experience a plus.Experience with building end-to-end reusable pipelines from data acquisition to model output delivery.Knowledge and passion for solid software engineering practices, release processes and project life cycles.Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to write clear functional specifications and design documents and engage with customers on technical discussions.Self-directed; requires minimal supervision on work productsStrong team player. Willingness to proactively interact with the team and achieve results in a dynamic small company environment

The following education/experience qualifications would be favorable:

MS in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent fields.Innovative thinker in all areas of system design and debugging.Proven ability to initiate original and creative technical efforts.Ability to multitask, and work effectively in fast paced environment.Familiarity with security software is a plus

What We Offer

The anticipated TTC range for this role is $107,886.50 – 207,030.00 USD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
