With more than 130 years of financial experience and over 22,000 partners, we serve the world’s most sophisticated clients using leading technology and exceptional service.Major Duties:Responsible for resolving complex issues in capital estimation, regulatory reporting or external financial statements and other aspects of risk measurementResponsible for model development and/or overseeing quantitative analytical processes for risk. Ensures regular production of analytical work and reports. Acts as contact for risk analytics with regulators, Audit Services, and internal risk teamsEvaluates existing framework in relation to corporate objectives and industry leading practices. Assesses development needs and manages process to achieve desired future stateSupports internal capital allocation methodologies. Ensures that capital modeling and allocation approaches meet both internal corporate needs and regulatory requirements related to prevailing regulatory guidanceProvides technical/theoretical expertise to resolve risk issues and enhance overall risk framework. Works with other Risk teams to ensure that risk management policies/processes and quantitative modeling approaches are consistentProvides communication and training efforts to promote understanding of risk measurement throughout the companyOperates independently; has in-depth knowledge of business unit / functionActs as subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical levelCarries out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficultRole is balanced between high level operational execution and development, and execution of strategic direction of business function activitiesConducts analysis, independently ensuring accuracy and completenessResponsible for direct interaction with different committees and/or Senior managementStrategic in developing, implementing and administering programs within Risk Management for specific product(s)

Knowledge:Excellent oral and written communication skills are requiredAnalytical and problem-solving skills are required.Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. SAS, Python, Advanced Excel) is strongly preferred.Strong conceptual and technical knowledge of risk concepts and quantitative modeling techniques.Prior leadership role in a risk measurement capacity.Understanding of technology solutions for risk measurement.

Experience:A College or University degree and relevant proven work experience for 3-5 years is requiredAdvanced degree in related field (math, statistics, economics) or equivalent career experience preferred - Masters/PHD in a quantitative field would be a plus.Related Industry qualification is preferredWorking with Us:As a Northern Trust partner, greater achievements await.
