The role you’ll contribute:
Cytotechnologist performs anatomical pathology procedures as certified. Requires the exercise of independent judgement under minimum supervision. Work customarily involves procedures, cytopreparation and slide screening, which require a high degree of theoretical and practical knowledge, and expertise in certified area.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Performs microscopic examination of both non-gynecologic and gynecologic specimens for evidence of precancerous lesions, cancer, inflammatory processes, organisms and other pathological conditions
Enters diagnosis into the LIS system
Tracks daily slide screening and other cytology QA/QC
Processes gynecologic, non-gynecologic & fine needle aspiration (FNA) specimens
Assists pathologist on FNA/core biopsy (ROSE) procedures in special radiologic settings
Maintains equipment and supplies
Follows all established policies and procedures
Performs other duties at the discretion of the supervisor

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelors Biological Sciences

Successful completion of a 12-month Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Cytotechnology program
American Society for Clinical Pathology Certification/Licensure
