Join this global chemical company looking to fill a critical Sales Manager position based ideally in the Fresno, CA Area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a very successful global chemical organization in a sales team leadership role focused on selling commodity & specialty chemicals to the General Industrial markets in the territory (Bakersfield north to the Oregon Border and East to Reno). This is an exciting, fast-paced, and challenging position. It's a solid income and career growth opportunity as well. There will be overnight travel with this role ~20%.

Responsibilities:

Lead a team of sales professionals covering a territory of Bakersfield north to the Oregon Border and East to Reno. Manage and grow the overall sales within the region. Coach, train, motivate, and assist the sales team to be successful in selling a broad range of chemicals to the General Industrial markets in the territory. Create a strong winning sales culture within the team. Assist the team in driving new sales development efforts at existing accounts, as well as prospecting for and developing new accounts. Create a new business/hunting mindset with the team. This is repeat business, so maintaining very strong customer relationships will be key for everyone. Manage pricing, trouble shooting, new product and service introductions, etc. Communicate effectively with management, suppliers, and customers. Develop the sales strategy for the territory. Effectively use a CRM program (Salesforce) to manage territory and account information.

Requirements:

8+ years of chemical industry sales experience, or related industrial sales experience. At least 3 years of sales team leadership experience. A hunter for new business with a track record of sales success. High energy with the capacity to handle a large volume of activity. A college degree is required, but the concentration is open. Must be very professional, self-motivated, and have the ability to manage many activities, products, accounts, pricing, etc.

Compensation:

Base: $150,000 - $180,000, commensurate with experience, plus targeted annual bonus of 20%. The bonus potential can go as high as 200% of the target. Company car. Excellent company benefits. Opportunities for career growth and advancement.
