Kemper's Chief Information Security Office is looking for a highly motivated Cybersecurity Analyst to assist in the review and implementation of cybersecurity initiatives across a large and complex environment. This is a critical role in the Cybersecurity Operations Service group and provides support for defensive security operations. The Analyst will respond to cyber threats and assist Cybersecurity Operations with improving processes and technologies. This role reports directly to the Cybersecurity Operations Lead and will directly contribute to threat defense activities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and respond to cyber threats.
  • Gain expertise in several cybersecurity technologies and defensive domains.
  • Maintain partnerships with stakeholders and assist with end-to-end Incident Response remediation.
  • Monitoring of technical security controls and detection technologies.
  • Provide cybersecurity threat recommendations to stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Leverage internal and external resources to research threats, vulnerabilities, and intelligence on various attackers and attack infrastructure.
  • Be a responsive and helpful engagement point for technology teams during Incident Response activities.
  • Assess internal and external networks to define and monitor Kemper's attack surface.


Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CySA+, GSEC, SSCP, etc. .
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK Framework.
  • Knowledge of technologies such as networking including ports and protocols, operating systems and indicators of compromise, cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of identity and access methods and technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively relate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
  • Bachelors degree in an IT or Security field preferred
  • This is a hybrid role working in the local Kemper office as needed.
