A law firm is seeking a Trial Attorney for its Houston, TX, location. The attorney will handle a caseload and docket autonomously, with minimal supervision, while collaborating on case strategy. The role involves planning case development, conducting legal research, drafting motions, briefs, and appeals, managing case schedules, communicating with clients, supporting attorneys during trials and hearings, and ensuring high-quality legal representation.Duties:

Handle a caseload and docket without oversight, collaborating on case strategy as needed.Plan case development by studying case information and conferring with other attorneys.Conduct legal research, utilizing precedent and reasoning.Write motions, briefs, and appeals.Manage cases by monitoring schedules, expediting requirements, and obtaining/forwarding information.Help clients by initiating and maintaining contact, preparing them for discovery, and informing them of case status.Support attorneys at trials and hearings by organizing evidence and exhibits, taking notes, scheduling witnesses, and facilitating discussions.Make court appearances, attend depositions, and draft pleadings and discovery.Present plaintiff for deposition and conduct fact witness depositions.Issue/answer discovery requests.Handle a high-value/low-volume caseload with an emphasis on plaintiff's personal injury cases.Prepare and respond to party and third-party discovery requests.Utilize Federal Court experience effectively.Demonstrate tech-savviness in legal practice.Maintain a serious focus on work with an understanding of the highly important nature of legal practice.Pay meticulous attention to detail.Handle and review files from intake to appeal without supervision.Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of plaintiff's personal injury experience.Expert deposition experience (taking and presenting).Witness deposition experience (taking and presenting).Brief writing experience.Party and third-party discovery experience (preparation and response).Tech-savvy with proficiency in legal technology tools.Ability to work with a serious focus and handle files from intake to appeal independently.Attention to detail is imperative.Education & Certifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Active license to practice law in Texas.Skills:

Strong writing and legal analysis skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Organizational and time management skills.Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.Proficiency in legal research databases and software.
