Duties and Responsibilities:Manage and administer Linux-based servers, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Collaborate with other university departments to ensure efficient integration of technologies into existing systems. Growing needs include system development and integration for AI systems and solutions.Assist in the configuration and optimization of AI system settings, parameters, and configurations to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.Monitor the performance of systems, identify issues or bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve performance.Oversee the collection, storage, and management of data used by systems including AI, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with regulations.Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for systems and data, including regular backups, data replication, and recovery procedures.Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and other security risks.Manage the deployment of software patches, updates, and security fixes for system components, including operating systems, AI, libraries, and frameworks.Collaborate with internal teams to understand their technical requirements and provide solutions.Provide technical support to end-users, addressing issues related to Linux systems incl. AI.Ensure that systems and processes comply with relevant regulations, standards, and policies, such as FERPA , GDPR , HIPAA , and internal data governance policies.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat) and command-line utilities.Familiarity with data security and privacy regulations.Experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware).Familiarity with different AI services for Azure and AWS (Preferred).Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat) and command-line utilities.4 years experience as Linux Server Administrator.Familiarity with data security and privacy regulations.Experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware).Preferred Qualifications:
2 years experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) operations and technical support (preferred).Familiarity with different AI services for Azure and AWS (Preferred).
