The laboratory of Dr. Sudha Chakrapani in the Department of Pharmacology at Case Western Reserve University is actively seeking to fill an NIH-funded postdoctoral position to study the structure, function, and pharmacology of ion channel complexes. We probe the molecular underpinnings of fast synaptic transmission using various cutting-edge, multidisciplinary approaches, including cryo-EM, Cryo-ET, electrophysiology, EPR spectroscopy, and other biophysical methods. Case Western Reserve University has an outstanding infrastructure for structural biology research, including the Titan Krios 3Gi, Glacios, and Aquilos-2 microscopes.Minimum Educational and Experience RequiredPhD Degree (or expected soon) in physiology, structural biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or closely related discipline with 0-4 years of postdoctoral experience. While not a prerequisite, prior experience in membrane protein biochemistry, patch-clamp electrophysiology, cellular neuroscience, or Cryo-EM is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication are essential.
