As the leaders of game streaming, the Core team is responsible for developing the streaming technology that powers PlayStation Plus Cloud Gaming.As a manager on the Core team, you have a strong emphasis in graphics and video codecs, and are able to grasp multiple technical areas to lead our development team. You enjoy the challenge of overcoming seemingly impossible problems to help the team succeed. Our ideal candidate has a strong technical background and proven experience in managing teams.ResponsibilitiesLead a team of software engineers in the design, development and optimization of graphics and video codec related solutions.Drive the architecture and technology that powers PlayStation’s streaming services.Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, design, implementation, testing and maintenance.Collaborate with product management, technical project managers, and other teams to define technical requirements and roadmaps.Mentor and develop team members.Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in video and graphics technologies, ensuring our solutions remain innovative and competitive.RequirementsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience5+ years of relevant development experience2+ years managing and leading software development projects and teamsStrong proficiency in C/C++Experience with GPU programming and frameworks (CUDA, OpenCL, or Vulkan)Strong communication and documentation skillsPlusesExperience working with client/server architectureAvid gamerThe estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.$179,300 — $268,900 USD
