A surgical tech or SPD role at CommonSpirit Health is not just an opportunity to be a difference-maker, it's the chance to harness the knowledge, support and potential that surrounds you.As a Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech with CommonSpirit Health you will:Works under the supervision of the surgeon and RN.Assist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.Day to Day duties:Scrub on all cases. Primarily, Specialize in Heart, Vascular, GEN, GYN, Urology, Ortho (Totals/ Sports Medicine), Spine, Neuro, Plastics, Robotics (DaVinci XI) and Trauma.Dedicated service teams for hearts and Vascular only. Associates are cross trained for all other services.Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next days cases.Maintain Sterile field during procedures.Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeons needsMaintaining and updating preference cards.**

One year of Operating Room (OR) experience required**16 OR SuitesApprox. 250-350+ cases per monthSchedule: PRN-variable per surgicalvolume and current unit needs**Weekend availability required**Call: No call required but extra shifts may be availableto pick upCallback- 30 min call backradius required if taking callPer policy PRN requires a Minavailability for 5 shifts in a 6 week schedule block and 2 holiday per year*Weekend availability Preferred*Qualifications:

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:Basic Computer skills required.Experience in a specialty field preferred.HS Diploma/GED requiredCompletion of an approved Surgical Technician program requiredBLS from the American Heart Association requiredCurrent registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. * A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech requiredCertification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) requiredPhysical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)Your Connected Community:
