Location: Los Angeles County, CA - Sun Valley (Hybrid – Monday/Friday Remote)Direct Hire OpportunityPay: $95,000-$100,000 / year (Potential for 15% annual bonus)Our client, a leading comprehensive waste and environment services company is seeking an Accountant III to join their team. The Accountant III will apply complex principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and oversee the implementation of accounting controls. This position is currently a hybrid role working 3 days a week in Sun Valley and two days in a home-office location.Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Prepare complex journal entries for entry into the general ledger system on a monthly basis by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing audit train support for the journal entries.Analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy; analyze accrual accounts to ensure proper accruals.Collect and analyze financial data and prepare monthly combined financial statements and reports.Perform additional analysis for explanatory text required for reports and statements.Coordinate the preparation of monthly financial packages and review for accuracy.Participate in monthly financial meetings for discussion and review of monthly financial reports.Assist with the preparation of year-end closings.Prepare annual long-term and short-term financial statements in compliance with accounting guidelines and U.S. GAAP.Assist in the preparation of working papers for the annual audit.Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, updates, and strategic plans for assigned areas. Coordinate preparation of monthly combining entries to combine financial results.Prepare quarterly consolidation reports for consolidation.Assist with the maintenance and application of internal controls.Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.5+ years' experience working in a mid to senior level accountant role.Experience working in mid-large size corporations.Full accounting close process.General Ledger, journal entries, calculating & posting accruals.Fixed Assets, AP/AR, Purchasing & Procurement.
