Flex/registry Clinical Therapist - Chatham Family Counseling CenterJOB SUMMARY:

This is a Flex/registry Clinical Therapist position at the Chatham Family Counseling Center location - 1111 E. 87 th

Street in Chicago. The Clinical Therapist will:Complete initial intake assessments for new clients entering the program and provide preliminary diagnosis and treatment recommendations.Deliver individual, family, and group therapy sessions to children, adolescents, and adults in the clinic setting.Develop initial and updated therapy treatment plans to guide the client's clinical treatment.Maintain a clinical caseload while working alongside administrative staff for scheduling.Maintain and submit appropriate documentation and billing submission under the standards of the outpatient services department.Engage in clinical consultation with other members of the treatment team as indicated.Ensure adherence to census requirements of the clinic.Assure compliance with applicable laws pertaining to psychiatric treatments.Provide a safe, secure, therapeutic, and professional environment at all times.

Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position.Education:

M.A / M.S. in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology or MSW.Experience:

One year clinical experience within an inpatient/outpatient/school-based setting; the one year can be a training experience as well.Licensure/Certification:

LPC/LSW or LCPC/LCSW in Illinois preferred.Knowledge:

Working knowledge of hospital safety policy and procedures. Excellent communication skills. Must possess knowledge of general psychiatric principles, concepts and theory, age-specific growth and development, limit setting, as well as crisis and behavioral management.Supervision Received:

Clinical Director and/or Executive Director of Outpatient ServicesSupervision Exercised:

Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids, and other hazardous waste. General hospital environment.Physical Requirements:

Ability to communicate verbally in a clear and concise manner. Push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds.
