Our new director will be a confident leader who is responsible for the general management of our YMCA Child Development Center, including the following minimum duties:

Administering finances, personnel, maintenance, meal planning and preparation and grant management.

Manage and oversee the budget and accounts and ensure the center remains profitable. Develop and facilitate a marketing and communications plan.

Administering the YMCA’s program objectives and activities.

Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children.

Parental engagement.

Coordinating and planning daily activities with our Lead Teachers from infants - school-age programs.

Overall program planning.

Staff recruitment and development. Written evaluation of staff persons on a regular basis, a minimum of one evaluation every 12 months.

Interview, hire and train new staff, ensuring they meet all policies and legal requirements.

Manage and support teaching staff and promote their professional development.

Our director shall have attained one of the following qualification levels:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children.

An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 3 years of experience with children.

An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 4 years of experience with children.
