We are seeking a
IPS Research Director
. The Institute for Policy Solutions works with health policy leaders, innovators and researchers to redesign the U.S. health system. With the goal of shifting policy and practice to more preventive, value-based and whole-person care, the Institute elevates, develops and implements evidence-based, actionable nurse-led solutions. A focus on eliminating racist policies and structures entrenched in the country’s health care establishment and other systems underpins the Institute’s work.The Institute has two main objectives:To achieve better health outcomes for the United States and the world, the Institute will create policy pathways for scaling and spreading diverse, innovative and impactful models of care.To elevate the policy, communications and media culture around nursing, the Institute will serve as a resource center where policymakers and news outlets can routinely seek nurses’ input.Specific Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe IPS Research Director will:Grant Development and ManagementLead the center’s policy research initiatives under the direct supervision of the executive director: Dr. Vincent Guilamo-Ramos.Work with the executive director in leading the IPS research team to conceptualize and develop grant proposals for submission to federal and private funding agencies.Work with the executive director in leading the IPS research team to implement federally and privately funded projects, including in the preparation of protocols and documentation for submission to the Institutional Review Board.Monitor and oversee team progress in achieving weekly outcomes/deliverables.Prepare progress/final reports at the end of each funding cycle for federal and private funding agencies.Project ImplementationBe involved in the hiring, training, and day-to-day oversight of IPS research staff.Oversee planning, implementation and evaluation of project activities.Statistical Analysis & Data ManagementConduct quality assurance assessment of ongoing data collection activities.Analyze qualitative and quantitative datasets with statistical software.Conceptualize, draft, and revise scholarly manuscripts.Prepare oral presentations for a multitude of audiences including health policy leaders, innovators and researchers.Work with IPS partners on the conceptualization and development of dissemination materials (e.g., policy briefings, press releases) for a multitude of audiences including families, policymakers, and public health officials.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree.Five years related experience.Additional education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in related field.At least five or more years' previous related work experience.Strong writing skills.Strong presentation development skills.Classified Title: Program ManagerJob Posting Title (Working Title) : IPS Research DirectorRole/Level/Range: ACRP/04/MEStarting Salary Range : $64,600 - $113,300 Annually ($88,100 targeted; Commensurate with experience)Employee group: Full TimeSchedule : Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:00Exempt Status: ExemptLocation : District of Columbia (Washington, DC)Department name: Research AdministrationPersonnel area: School of Nursing
