Summary
The Vice-President of Corporate Services provides leadership of all Human Resources, Communications and Member Engagement functions of the Cooperative. Under the direction of the President/General Manager and the Cooperative's strategic plan, this position is responsible for developing and executing strategies for the functional areas of leadership. The position is responsible for corporate compliance, Human Resource policy and procedure. The Vice-President monitors the relevance of current solutions with members and employees and works to increase participation in the Cooperative's programs and initiatives.

Principal Duties
  • Oversee the administration of employee appraisal and compensation structures. Ensures the appraisal and compensation programs meet the goals outlined in strategic objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations including but not limited to; Wage and Hour, OSHA, EEO/AAP, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, labor laws, etc.
  • Promote and support a visible safety culture that provides a clear understanding of management's commitment to and expectation of having a safe and healthy work environment
  • Study best practices and apply them to the annual planning process. Implement best practices and monitor progress, taking corrective action if required
  • Evaluate and execute strategic initiatives involving employee performance, appraisal and compensation
  • Ensure corporate recruiting efforts attract qualified personnel in accordance with strategic objectives
  • Ensure Cooperative brand with members, community, and employees achieve the goals outlined in strategic objectives
  • Ensure member programs and offerings are relevant, cost effective and maximizes participation in Cooperative programs.
  • Personally affiliate with community or civic organizations to strengthen our area and to demonstrate the Cooperative's commitment to our community
  • Ensure access and consistency of corporate records and policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Duties & Responsibilities
  • Directed by the President/General Manager, individual has authority to take action he/she deems advisable or necessary, subject to the policies or general rules laid down by the Cooperative. All actions should be consistent with the Cooperative's mission, purpose and values.
  • Technical accuracy of work; maintaining good communication and work relationships; coordinating work with others; meeting deadlines; and adhering to company guidelines, policies, practices and procedures
  • Work independently on assignments while keeping supervisor informed of progress and potential problems. Apply guidelines and obtain approval for deviation from guidelines
  • Represent the Cooperative at public, community, business and governmental meetings and events, and requires maintaining an appropriate professional appearance.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the areas outlined in the description. Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 6 years minimum in Human Resources with an MBA or equivalent degree; Law Degree or license to practice.
