Job Description
Doucet is seeking a dynamic and growth-oriented Project Manager with strong technical, organizational, and communication skills to join our Public Works/Water Resources team. Doucet is seeking a dynamic and growth-oriented Project Manager with strong technical, organizational, and communication skills to join our Public Works/Water Resources team. This role offers significant career advancement opportunities. As a Project Manager, you will collaborate closely with all levels of management and technical staff in the PW/WR Department, and coordinate with clients, sub-consultants, and other Doucet team members.
Qualifications (Essential Criteria):
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or college.
- Licensed Civil Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering and design, with a focus on public works, roadway, drainage, and utility design.
- Familiarity with local municipalities, counties, and TxDOT design procedures, regulatory compliance, and agency coordination.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in computer software used in the transportation/public works industry, including Highway/Roadway Design, Stormwater Design, 3D software, MicroStation/Open Roads, and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Experience with the City of Austin preferred.
Duties & Functions:
- Develop project design concepts and criteria, organize project information and records systems, and design and prepare working drawings and related project documents.
- Provide recommendations on design alternatives, assist in proposal preparation, and oversee the production of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for public infrastructure improvement projects.
- Serve as Project Manager on multiple public works projects, managing client relationships, project budgets, and schedules, while ensuring quality assurance and control for deliverables, including proposals.
- Coordinate regularly with project design team members, subconsultants, clients, stakeholders, contractors, permit agency representatives, while managing internal and external resources to ensure successful project completion.
- Coach, motivate and lead design team.
- Cultivate strong client relationships, attend engineering and industry events and conferences, and effectively prioritize multiple competing tasks, managing time wisely.
- Be a highly motivated self-starter capable of forecasting and initiating project management tasks, working independently while collaborating when necessary, and proactively resolving conflicts that arise during projects.
