We're looking for a junior infrastructure services engineer to join our team. In this role, you will assist in maintaining and supporting Commonwealth's infrastructure, including systems, networking, data center operations, and cloud infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their skills in a collaborative environment while ensuring the reliability of our systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting in performing regular changes to various infrastructure components.
  • Supporting the administration and monitoring of deployed systems and infrastructure.
  • Assisting in performing maintenance on infrastructure systems, such as Server OS and VMWare.
  • Responding to system alerts and incidents during business hours.
  • Helping troubleshoot issues on infrastructure components, working closely with other technology teams to resolve problems.
  • Contributing to problem resolution and root cause analysis to reduce future issues.
  • Assisting in implementing automation and scripting to reduce manual tasks.
  • Documenting systems and configurations to support team members effectively.

Core Strengths and Skills
  • 1-2 years of experience or relevant coursework in infrastructure tools (VMWare, Cisco, Windows Server OS, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of public cloud providers (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Understanding of networking protocols and technologies (DNS, DHCP, SNMP, TCP/IP).
  • Familiarity with scripting technologies (PowerShell or Python) is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and manage servers in a corporate setting, including security protocols and compliance.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Enthusiasm for troubleshooting and resolving issues in a fast-paced environment.
