The

Volunteer Engagement Coordinator

is responsible for recruiting and coordinating volunteer efforts for specific programs. Identifies volunteer requirements and conducts orientations for new volunteers. The

Volunteer Engagement Coordinator

implements the overarching SOME Volunteer Strategy to ensure the fulfillment of program and department needs for designated programs.Schedule:

Monday - Friday. 6:00am - 2:30pm (40 hours per week)Required:

HS Diploma/GED; 1-3 yrs. experience working with volunteersPreferred:

Bachelor's Degree; 1-3 yrs. social services experience and working with volunteers; experience working with low income adults in residential settings; program coordination and training experience; experience with a volunteer database or other CRM; CPR and First AidRequired License/Certification:

CPR/First-AidKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of programming for low income populationsAbility to work independentlyOrganized with an attention to detailAction-orientedExcellent verbal and written communication skills with diverse audiencesFlexibility and last-minute adaptabilityProficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and OutlookRelationship building skillsGroup facilitation and training skillsAbility to collaborateExpected Contributions: Volunteer Recruitment & MobilizationRecruit, train and maintain a volunteer Corp for assigned SOME departmentsWork with individual programs to ensure staffing and work needs are met through volunteers, including helping to assess, coordinate, and design volunteer opportunities within the programsResponsible for the administrative tracking and reporting of metrics as required, including ensuring completion of the volunteer registration process, proof of volunteer hours documentation, and managing and monitoring email and phone communications regarding volunteer services for the assigned department(s)Work with Marketing and Communications and the SOME Volunteer Program to develop recruitment and marketing materials for volunteer opportunities for the assigned departmentCoordinate outreach to community organizations and individual volunteers to promote volunteer opportunities.Reports to:
