Job Description
As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will work on the company's financial reporting of its tax accounts, including the quarterly and year-end tax provision, and preparing various federal and state tax returns.
Must be able to work on-site, at least one day a week, at our office in Fairfax, VA or Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
Calculate the tax provision and deferred tax balances based on USGAAP and IFRS tax accounting including consolidated income tax account roll forwards and consolidated effective tax rate (ETR) calculations.As a USGAAP and IFRS tax reporting subject matter expert, instruct and advise, corporate, regional, and local finance and tax teams on USGAAP and IFRS tax reporting/account matters.Assist with the maintenance of tax related Sarbanes-Oxley 404 documentation and work with internal/external auditors to ensure that internal controls related to the Tax Department are properly maintained.Assist with the US federal, state and foreign income tax compliance process including working with local tax providers and internal accounting teams.Prepare all provision to return reconciliations and related tax accounting adjustments.Develop and implement tax technology solutions to facilitate tax compliance and tax accounting processes.Assist with any tax related special projects including planning, research, modeling of tax implications of special projects, such as E&P calculation, FATCA review, foreign bank reporting, Form 1099 review, Based Erosion and Profit Sharing (BEPS) and transfer pricing calculations.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of tax provision experience required.Tax compliance and planning experience required.A minimum of 5 years of experience using MS Excel.Experience in a large, multi-national corporation subject to SEC reporting requirements. (Experience working for a publicly traded company is highly preferred.)Experience in US federal and state corporate tax compliance.Experience using ONESOURCE (preferred but not required.)Experience in researching domestic and international tax issues and related documentation including technical tax memorandums.Must have planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work to ensure deadlines are met.Must be detail oriented, creative, and have problem-solving and effective communication skills.Must be able to work independently within a team.
