Senior Electrical/Integration Engineer

We are currently looking for a Sr. Electrical/Integration Engineer to join our team in Redmond, WA. This role is In-Office. The pay range is $122k - $145k annually.

Primary Function:

The Sr. Electrical/Integration Engineer is responsible for designing DC/DC switching power supplies, mitigating EMI, and working with MIPI/I2C/SPI interfaces. This role involves developing and optimizing high-frequency circuits, PCB and flex PCB designs, and mixed-signal systems for an advanced AR display system focused on enhancing perception and image quality.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:

Work closely with ME, Opto-ME, Thermal, Optical engineers, FW/SW engineers, and the safety team to design EE systems and perform system integration work.Author system/subsystem requirements/specifications, document design files and test criteria/plan for system and modules, review and approve vendor design proposals, document test methodology, component qualification criteria, and support system validation.Conduct failure analysis, root cause diagnosis, and system-level problem solving.In charge of component selection, evaluation, schematic capture, work with layout team to conduct/review layout, follow up on PCB and PCBA manufacturing, perform board/subsystem/system bring up, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation. Hands-on debug/test at EE and system level.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

MS degree plus 5+ years of work experience, or 7+ years working experience with BS degree, in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field or equivalent industry work experience.Very experienced in high-frequency circuit design, including differential pair layout, measurement.Experience in board level DC/DC switching power supply design/layout and thermal considerations.Experience in PCB and flex PCB design.Experience with bench soldering.Experience using bench power supply, oscilloscope, signal generator, multimeter.Experience with Altium or Cadence schematic capture or layout review tool; prefer Altium. Experience with EMI EE/system risk mitigation strategy and techniques.Experience with mixed signal design, including MCU and FPGA.Experience with cross-functional teamwork with a willingness to drive results. Good at Python and scripting language; familiar with Linux required.Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group.Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Sigma Design Core Values.Pass a post-offer background verification.

Work Environment

Standard lab/production environment. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel to other facilities, clients, or suppliers. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
