A successful candidate would ideally be based in our Ann Arbor office, but a fully remote work position would be considered.As our new Investigation and Remediation Senior Consultant, you will:Work closely with Project Managers and other Consultants on environmental characterization, investigation, remediation, data analysis, ecological assessments, and remedial strategy and implementation projects.This is an excellent career opportunity to work with an expert consulting team on challenging environmental projects for public sector, industrial, legal sector, commercial, and global clients. For this role, your starting point is:At least a Master’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering or Science from an accredited institution and 3+ years of relevant consulting experience.Classwork or experience with geophysics, geochemistry, organic chemistry, hydrology, ecology, and biology is desired.Experience with soil, water, sediment or air emissions sampling is a plus.Groundwater flow and/or contaminant transport modeling, GIS mapping, and/or field geology coursework (as applicable) are a plus.Any work experience with per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) is a plus.Experience with analytical chemistry, database management, and data analysis is a plus.Strong written and oral communication skills.OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training is a plus.Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time and possess a valid driver’s license. Most travel will be local; however, some may include overnight stays and may be out of state. Travel duration may range from 1 to 10 days, depending upon the specific requirements of each project.Willingness to work overtime, evenings, and occasionally weekends to support large scale projects.Physical requirements may include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. This position may expose candidates to extremes in weather (hot/cold); high noise levels, hazards such as proximity to moving machine parts and vehicles, electrical current, and exposure to chemicals. Employees may be required to take specific training and to wear company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE).Tasks and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and oversee drilling, sampling, surveying, and laboratory services.Perform field work, including soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, soil vapor, and indoor air sampling, hydraulic testing such as slug tests and pumping tests, soil boring and monitoring well installation, soil logging, and well purging and sampling.Assist with the development of comprehensive site investigation work plans by participating in scope of work development, budgeting, and data analysis to characterize contaminants in sediments, soil, soil vapor, air, surface water, and groundwater.Assist with development of Conceptual Site Models and ecological assessments.Assist with the preparation and editing of technical and regulatory reports.Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:Being a confident communicator with superior management skills, having natural leadership talent, a collaborative attitude, the ability to motivate multidisciplinary teams across geographical borders, and the motivation and ability to generate and maintain business to support company growth.Do you want to push the boundaries of your profession and develop your excellence in an open, collaborative, and empowering culture?
