I am the regional medical director for Sound’s emergency medicine practice at AdventHealth Central Texas in Killeen, Texas. I’ve been a part of Sound Physicians since 2018. I want to share more about who we are and what we do — specifically about our

Practice

As a medical director, your responsibilities will include ensuring emergency medicine representation on hospital committees and providing timely summaries of meeting outcomes.

Regularly communicate with hospital leadership and nursing directors to align departmental goals and strategies.

Conduct bi-monthly meetings with providers to review performance metrics, address operational issues, and discuss hospital-wide initiatives.

We are a community-based hospital with a 30-bed emergency department, seeing over 50,000 visits annually and a Level 4 trauma designation.

We seek board-certified emergency or family medicine physicians with leadership experience.

Recognizing the importance of work-life balance, we offer a flexible schedule. Days are 6A-3P, 11A-9P, and nights are 3P-12A and 9P-6A.

We are an employed practice with comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability insurance, a 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and an annual CME allowance.
