with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Perform field inspections during various stages of constructionRead and examine plans and specifications when requiredReport violations and maintain files/recordsPerform other related duties as requiredSKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technologyInterpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutionsMust possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clienteleExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGood time management, organization, and attention to detail skillsDemonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgmentEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Candidates must possess one of the below combinations1)

ICCProperty Maintenance and Housing Inspector Certification

AND (2)

of the below ICC Certifications:B1 - Residential Building Inspector CertificationM1 - Residential Mechanical Inspector

CertificationE1 - Residential Electrical Inspector

CertificationP1 - Residential Plumbing Inspector

CertificationOR

T he ability to obtain ICC's

Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector Certification within twelve (12) months of entry into the position

AND (3)

of the below ICC Certifications:B1 - Residential Building Inspector CertificationM1 - Residential Mechanical Inspector CertificationE1 - Residential Electrical Inspector CertificationP1 - Residential Plumbing Inspector CertificationOR

The ability to obtain ICC's Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector Certification within twelve (12) months of entry into the position

AND (3)

of the below ICC Certifications:B2 - Commercial Building Inspector CertificationM2 - Commercial Mechanical Inspector CertificationE2 - Commercial Electrical Inspector CertificationP2 - Commercial Plumbing Inspector Certification3 years of inspection experience requiredExpert knowledge of ICC codes and District of Columbia Municipal Regulations, Title 12, local amendments requiredHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredValid driver's license and a good driving record requiredCOMPENSATION:

SAFEbuilt pays competitive wages and has a strong benefits offering. Hourly rate: $35-$55/hour
